Just to set my mind at ease, what is Slim's association with CBid and CI? I know I sound like a dipsh*t, but I keep seeing a lot of posts about Slim. Just curious. Thanks.

Slim was born into an extremely poor South Dakota family of Dung beetle ranchers. The oldest son in a family of 19 children, Slim's first job was to prevent the ranchhands from molesting the livestock.
At 14, Slim began selling stolen cigars from the back of his family's 1936 Ford truck and ran a brothel in the front.
At 24, Slim moved the business to northeast Pennsylvania because of it's proximity to NYC and the steel mills.
He built his first brick and mortar store at the corner of Marla Ave and Gout St. only to burn it down and collect the insurance money.
He built the present store with the profits from the accidental fire.
Slim has never forgot his humble beginnings nor has he forgotten that first store. He'll be happy to give out advice regarding cigars and will tell about how he carefully removes the cello from each cigar to personally inspect them before storage.

tarheel4lyf --- I'm nothing more than a highly opinionated 'old cigar smoking bastage' that has been on this board longer than I ever expected ... and am not afraid to voice what I feel to whomever brings it out in me.

I'm like a regular in a certain bar or tavern. You know, kind of like 'Norm' on the old Cheers TV series ... though more people liken me to 'Cliff Claven'.

I'm just a fixture that has been around here a long time ... and I am very passionate about premium cigars. I have a good relationship with the folks who run CI/CB, and consider them and the staff good friends.

To me, this place is like a home away from home ...
