Well said... Moore seems to forget it's young men and women like these over the course of this country's history that have made life possible for a hypocritic leech like him to exist in this society. But I'm sure that he would do a much better job in running the country... just let me brush up on my Arabic first so I will be able to function in our new "FREE" society.

Anti War doesn't mean Anti Troops, why is this so difficult to understand? Did Moore ever say that he hates our troops??? I didn't recall hearing that....

The time for backhanded under-cutting and sniveling debate is over. We are a country at war. You don't like it fine my by me but shut the (bleep) up!!!!! Not matter what the anti-war idiots think they are achieving it is not worth doing if just one solier lying on the battlefield, dying, thinks even for one moment that his counry back home does not love him and honor his sacrifice. Grow up its time to be men about it and stop this fricking charade. I'm done MK

Here's what he said,

"We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times. We live in a time where we have fictitious election results, that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons," Moore said. "We are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you! Shame on you!." Some booed, then the music started and the obligatory applause came from the audience masking Moore's last line: "Any time you’ve got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up!"

So Michael Moore is a devout Catholic? I wonder what other papal policies he espouses? Wasn't the theocracy complicit at least in part in the Holocaust? I'm no historian, but I'm not sure they have the best record when it comes to dealing with despotic dictators... I was raised Catholic, I know Catholics and Mr. Moore, you are no John Kennedy… I suppose the families of those fictitious dead soldiers should take great solace in Mr. Moore's machinations...

What are you talking about robby? Do you even understand what you wrote? I don't agree with what Moore said, but I also don't agree with what he didn't say, but you all are saying he did.

Like I said, Anti-War does not mean Anti-Troops. I agree that the majority of the Anti-War protesters are morons who don't understand what they're screaming about, and last week they were protesting for smoking bans or some other bull$hit.

Also, I find it hard to understand the reasoning for protesting right now, we're in the War, it's not like we're just going to stop and leave Iraq. If the economy were better there would be less protesters, because they'd actually have jobs!

Saying that he doesn't support our troops. He may not, but he never said as much in his speech at the oscars.

Here it is: It was as the music began to play and he was being hussled off the stage. May not have been widely heard, but he said it.

"Anytime you've got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, you're not long for the White House."--Michael Moore, accepting his award for Best Documentary (Bowling for Columbine).

Ahhh, ok, where in my post did I say he didn't support the troops? I said " I suppose the families of those fictitious dead soldiers should take great solace in Mr. Moore's machinations..." From that YOU "inferred" that I said he didn't support our troops... RTFM!

He's talking about Bush, not the troops. Or do you think that the Dixie Chicks and the Pope are against the troops as well??

Moore has every right to express his opinion just as I and everyone who has responded on this thread. Will we all view the issues the same way. No. But the opinions expressed on this thread are no less valid to the person who expresses them than Moore's are to him. My personal opinion is that he chose a poor forum to air his views, but his rights also include the freedom to choose badly (again my opinion). Disrespectful. Yes. Again my opinion. Do I wish he would just shut up and go away. Yes. But my wishing so is no different that Moore wishing that we were not involved in this war, wishing that we had a different President, etc.

We are all free to express out views and those who make statements regarding their beliefs about Moore and what he should or should not do are as valid as any other comments. Some will view them as legitimate arguments, others not. But we should all be thankful for the right to express our view freely.

Robby - Pretty much yes, did you mean it another way? But more importantly I was wondering what you were trying to accomplish with your religious tirade, because whatever it was didn't come through...

jgjam - well said

Again though, "You inferred meaning". Which is EXACTLY what you're getting hot about everyone else doing. Inferring from his comments that he's against the troops.
How does it feel?
How does it feel?
To be on your own.
With no direction home.
A complete unknown.
Like a rollin' stone.

How does it feel to be a victim of you own bassackwards logic?

Read what you wrote, it's hard to interpret it any other way. But do your little dance anyway…

And also read the other posts, it's stated over and over that Moore is against our troops and has no respect for the US, and blah, blah, blah... Yeah, that’s me completely inferring…

You assume my logic is bassackwards since it's different than yours, that makes sense... About as much as the majority of your political posts…

There is no smiley face to put on it ... with our troops in harms way, fighting and even dying for the rights we have in this country ... and yes, that IS exactly what they're doing ... it was an inappropriate abuse of his freedom of speech ... in was unpatratriotic in the extreme .....

I plan to write and tell him so ...

let me make it easy for you to do the same .... his e-mail is [email protected]

In principle war is a terrible thing. Here in the real world, sometimes you just gotta do it. Hiding under the covers will not make these psychos go away.

Moore staged some of the scenes and made up a lot of the statistics in that movie.
