I received the Camacho Liberty 2007 limited edition cigars from JohnE1000 yesterday and could not wait to enjoy one!!!! Thanks again John!!!

Appearance: 8/10

The barber pole is a beautiful cigar at first glance with two blue and gold bands, the main band and one at the foot. The wrapper is satiny and fairly smooth with very small veins that run from the cap to the foot. The maduro stripes have almost gold colored crystals that really bring an elegance to this limited edition cigar. The seam between the maduro and corojo sections of the wrapper are almost indistinguishable.

Prelight: 9/10

This is Camacho's 11/18 vitola, and having enjoyed quite a few of this shaped Camachos I know the prelight draw will open up after the first inch or so. The prelight draw brings a sweetness to the lips and tongue of cocoa with a slight caramel in the backround. A very pleasant prelight indeed.

1st third:

The opening third of this cigar brings more cocoa and caramel with campfire toasted marshmallow and a very slight charred cedar which gives the sinuses a subtle "twang" upon exhale only hindered at first by the restricted draw of the first inch.

2nd third:

The draw has really opened up at this point, and the flavors have bloomed nicely. All of the same flavors are present, with the addition of fresh roasted coffee beans that complement the creamy smoke perfectly. I am really enjoying this cigar at this point.

3rd third:

At this point the 11/18 shape begins to shrink back down, but the draw never closes up. The charred cedar is more prevalent with the roasted coffee beans right behind. The cocoa and caramel have subsided to the point that I really have to concentrate to taste them although the sweetness is still there. Still a pleasure and very enjoyable.

Burn/ash: 9/10

The burn throughout this cigar was razor sharp from first light until the very end. This is a surprising reality as it is a barber pole, but the ash really never heald longer than an inch. I lit this cigar at 6:00am with a cup of coffee, and didn't put it down until 7:26 to a perfect sunrise.

Overall: 9/10

This Camacho Liberty 2007 cigar was a pleasure to smoke. Solid construction and flavors make this cigar an easy recommendation to any cigar smoker no matter what stage they may be in their hobby. Power smokers be ware, it is easy to over smoke little jewel, and there is a fine line between a pleasant blend of flavors, and turning the cigar bitter from over heating. Best advise is to smoke it slow and enjoy conversation and a cup of coffee with good friends...

Well done, Elk. After reading this, I'm certain I have one that won't survive the weekend.

Great review! I've never had the '07, but it sounds kinda similar to the '08 which was nice.
