I'm sort of new to cigar smoking and have not developed much knowledge about good cigars yet. Now the wife has decided she would like to try one too. Any sugesstions on something good for a first timer?

She might like a Carbonell or Oliveros. Both are mild and have a sweet taste to them. Both are easy to find at most cigar shops or at CI.

My wife really enjoys the Hamilton by Upmann.

You can either start her on a nice Acid Blondie or a mild but very flavorful cigar such as a Napa Reserve (if you are lucky enough to find them..they're discontinued) or more easily found, a CAO Aniversaire Cameroon or a Flor De Oliva Grand Cameroon..Somewhat mild for Nicaraguan tobacco but chock full of flavor IMHO..Very tasty smokes!...If she starts out trying a too strong or very full flavored cigar, she may be turned off by cigars immediately..Good luck!..I wish my wife was as daring as yours...You're a very lucky man...LOL

macnudo, very smooth and mild. CAO's are good too. what ever you decide buy two and smoke the same cigar with your wife.

Any cigar from the 'Canary Islands', as they tend to be milder smokes, but full of flavor. Or, the '5 Vegas' ... mild, but tasty. Also, I would start her out with a smaller ring size (Panatela) ... hum .... Davidoff #1 maybe? Geeze, there are so many choices ...

Macanudo Portifino, she will like the little white tube and the slim look of the panatella! Super Mild.

I'd have to agree with Rookie on the Flor De Oliva Grand Cameroon. But why not take it a step further and try the Perdomo Reserve Maduro #1 or #2 she will love the cute little shapes. My girl friend does and she won't even try a cigar, then there is the coa coa and coffee factor, guess what you may be buying next Valentines day instead of candy???
