I am a novice enjoying some good smokes and trying to sort through some info.
I'm told to kill cigar beetles, you place all the sticks in the freezer for a day or two and then in the refriderator for a day and then return to the humidor. I don't currently have a beetle problem, but my humidors in Tucson, AZ will be closer to 78F than 70, so can I freeze them as a preventative?

Question 2: In the humidor, should you remove the cello or leave it on?

THANKS!

You want to freeze your HUMIDORS?...Don't put the cigars back into the humidor after taking them out of the refrigerator...Let them sit out for a few hours in a plastic ziplock bag first...Also, make sure you put them in a ziplock bag BEFORE putting them in the freezer...As far as your second question, it's your preference...I take my cigars to work and usually leave them in the cello so the wrappers don't get damaged...You're gonna get a lot of crap because your second question has been asked and answered at least 6-7 times here since I've been here (about two years)...Good luck!

Noel, Ewe really should try and find a cooler place to put your Humi. , like a closet or a spot that is a bit cooler to prevent dem little buggers..
I trim the extra cello off so that they get the moisture they need and have a lesser chance of damaging the wrapper..JMHO..

...beating the rotting horse... but here we go: I freeze almost ALL my sticks before I give them prime real estate in the humidor. Especially ISOMs. Do what Rookie said, he's right. I'm not even going to acknowledge that second question of yours 😉 Use the "Search The Boards" function is my only advice for that one.
