No - They should not be banned. There should be restrictions.

Second Question
No - Should not be allowed in car or on person. I know it's a constitutional right. It should be changed or restricted.

Thanks limoric, and please don't be mad at me. I meant no disrespect. We'll just have to agree to disagree. I love my handguns. Especially the .44 magnum. There's nothing quite like it. If you've never plinked with one, you should shoot it just for the experience. BOOM! And you feel it in your chest! And the best is shooting gallon and half gallon milk jugs filled with water (BOOM!) I know that statistically I won't need to use them in defense of myself and my family. And as I said, I don’t carry nor do I have guns in my car, because I’m not the most stable person… (NO! yes, it’s true…)

"if" I thought it would work, I would support more restrictions, but I believe it would be counter productive, i.e., the only people who will comply with tighter laws are law abiding citizens and they're not the ones we're worried about! Let me know when you make it to Atlanta and we'll shoot some "concealable" handguns and smoke cigar 🙂

I think we agree more than we disagree. I would love to fire off a few rounds. It just bothers me that people would carry them around just because they could. It was a few other people on this topic that set me off. I'm glad you said what you said because at first I figured you were a responsible guy. I see now that you were just defending your rights, which are black and white. I think there is a moral gray area that is crossed because an opportunity exists.

If you changed laws it would take a long time before there was a cultural shift. At which time those who are real gun enthusiasts would continue to enjoy their guns and the guy or gal who buys a gun just because they can or for protection, wouldn't because it would become taboo.

I simply compare my experience in my neighborhood because handguns a very taboo. Most robberies here are performed with knives and/or non-lethal weapons.

Of course there would have to be a cultural shift in order for criminals to stop using guns in America and I know that would take generations. But where do you start?

Hey look at the cigar boom. Many of those who started up because it was more culturally acceptable or "in the now", probably don't smoke anymore. Those who do, do it because they love it and respect it. Nothing is more dangerous than a newbie with a cigar, I mean gun, no I mean cigar.

Anyway I feel a lot safer now at the thought of blowing up some water balloons and smoking cigars down there in Hotlanta.

People who murder people with handguns
and use handguns to commit armed robberies and other crimes
are NOT usually NRA members.

News Flash: These people will not be turning in or registering their guns no matter how many laws are enacted.

In fact, these people will consider it a personal favor if your take away guns from their potential victims.
