Saw today that the entertainment world lost THE greatest ambassador to radio/TV/motion pictures/and his passion...Golf.

One of the greatest entertainers that ever lived.

I grew up in Cleveland and it was always nice knowing he got his show biz start there. For many years he was a minority owner of the Indians and would occasionaly attend a game. He would wave to all of us from his private box.

Thanks for the memories Mr. Hope!

He will certainly be missed...

I can remember when I was a kid (mid teens) watching an old Bob Hope movie in the basement. I was laughing so hard that I woke my folks up two floors up! My mom came down and said "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" I apologized and got a pillow and proceeded to laugh in to it.

I always admired him for his longevity, his attitude, and his patriotic spirit.

The one and only, forever more.....Bob Hope! Saw him in person at a USO show at Ramstein AFB, Germany, with Jayne Mansfield, around 1966.

You can't say enough about Bob! I've always enjoyed his humor, and my repsect for him grew over the years as I learned more about him. He truly was an American Icon. I can't say enough about him how he would sacrifice every Christmas to entertain our troops all over the world.

Met him at the old Hollywood Masquer's Club in the early 60's, then saw him a couple years later on a Seabee-built stage outside of Da Nang, Vietnam. Joey Heatherton danced her a@@ off in a pouring monsoon rain. Don't know how she stayed on her feet.

He had a great run.

He's lived a few lifetimes. Seems to have spent more time in wars than most Generals, has made more people laugh in this world than 100 comedians and has given his heart out to all who have had the pleasure to meet him.
This is a person who you only have to look at all of his achievments to see the type of person he was.
That is something.
Even if some folks didn't think he was funny (I did), You have to tip your hat to him and while he may not need extra prayers, it couldn't hurt. 🙂
