why is this a political issue? domestic policy yes. foreign policy yes. medical insurance, yes. education yes. and a lot of other yes issues. why is abortion a political issue?

Because tax dollars are spent performing them. Why are drugs a political issue? It is, afterall, personal choice. If I grew my own pot, or concocted my own crack cocaine, why should the government care?
Why is healthcare a political issue? Where in the constitution does it say that I have the right to government subsidized healthcare if I can't afford my own? A lot of issues are political when they shouldn't be. But this issue is not about "choice". It's about convenience. A woman doesn't "choose" an abortion like she would a pair of shoes. She gets one in order to make her life more convenient. I know that the N.O.W. will probably revoke my membership for saying so, but that's what I believe.

If drugs are manufactured or grown for personal consumption, I have no problem w/ it. Do what you want as long as you don't hurt others.

Where does the constitution say that I can't smoke dope?

Of course not being able to afford a trip to the doctor might inhibit my persuit of life & happiness.
And where does it say that doctors should be allowed to price their services so prohibitively high that they are not accessible to a great percentage of Americans.

In my opinion doctors are a notch above politicians and a notch below child-molesters.
