I have a box of Aston Cabinets #3, it has a tapered end (foot), I light it as is and let it burn up to the ring size..........or do you clip it before you light it......? It burns great for me the way I am doing it, but just asking for educate............Scotty

That's how I do it (Perdomo Reserve, La Aurora Prefs). Is the draw good all the way? If so, I say leave it.

I've had some Perdomo #4 maduros that were very hard drawing and clipping that "nipple foot" off seemed to help free it up some. Generally though, I just light 'em.

I never clip that tapered end ... it does tighten the draw during the first few draws of your smoke, but it sure will facilitate even lighting ...

I'm just having fun also.......no harm intended...I don't clip the foot, but since it tapers down to 1/4", was just curious to what others do.......(ok, I've had my coffee and have lighten up....LOL)
