"I saw a Werewolf drinkin a Pina Colada at Trader Vic's, his hair was perfect"

Great songwriter. I will smoke a Partagas Serie D tonight in his honor while I listen to his Excitable Boy CD.

HEH, How ironic, he died of terminal lung cancer.

ARTIST: Warren Zevon
TITLE: Werewolves of London

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get a big dish of beef chow mein

{Refrain}
Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London
Ah-ooooo
Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London
Ah-ooooo

If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again

{Refrain}

Heh!

He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, jim
Ha, I'd like to meet his tailor

{Refrain}

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walking with the Queen, uh
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's
His hair was perfect

Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London
Ha, draw blood
Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London

Man,
One of the most underrated song writers of his time.
He will surely be missed.
I like some of his more obscure stuff. Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, among others. I believe that song is on excitable boy.

I've always admired his lyrical sense of humor and his musicality, but what really impressed me was the number of world-class musicians who expressed their respect and condolences as his condition developed.

Sad, sad day this weekend when I found out.
I agree with you Homebrew and Cigarick, he was very underated as both a musician and a lyrcal genius. So much of his stuff was dark and scary, but was so poetic that itmade it fun.
Macabre, I suppose would be best to describe it.

Did an early morning tribute on our high school radio station today for WZ. A bunch of kids really liked his stuff. I bought his first album and every one since. Sad day for music.

Warren,
You will be missed.

I was lucky enough to see him twice. My senior year of high school in '96 and the second time in college in '98.

I saw Warren 5 times
He was great and what a songwriter
It's only the third time someone has
died that I did'nt know personally
but felt the pain.
