He has to be my favourite Beat Poet. And it's read by Allen Ginsburg... Very Cool.

Nothing about cigars... I just like Beat Poetry. And I figured somebody else might like it too. The tape set is a hard to find thing.

That's a cool pic. Kerouac was one of the better Beats, and Ginsberg was my fav. But some of them had no talent and just got lucky they hung around the right people.

Choner I couldn't have said it better myself. Some of it is just drivel. But Kerouac was a wordsmith. He used the english language to make his creations.

Burroughs was pretty good too. Although I would agree Kerouac is my favorite of them. On the road is entertaining. KCUF Radio...

Although, owning the tape set does make you a user.. 🙂

I read Kerouac when he was new, but have never revisited him. I remember enjoying very much On The Road and The Dharma Bums, and going to the coffee, jazz and bad poetry houses where all us hip babies hung out late at night, sometimes until after midnight, even. From there all the Zen books by Alan Watts, then Japanese haiku (This dewdrop world. . . a dewdrop world it is, and yet . . .) and on into the greatest romance of all, theoretical physics.

You know I actualy like Japanese Haikus and theoretical physics. I like Feynman... "Surely your joking Mr. Feynman" is a funny and interesting look into his life. And Mathew Broderick played him in the movie version quite well.
