The padres trying to win their "65th" game ( lost anyway ) intentionaly walked Todd Helton at his last at bat. Had Hilton got a hit he would have won the N.L. Batting Title. Albert Pujols of St. Louis won the title with a .3587 batting average, Helton ended the season with a .3585 Batting average and if he was pitched to and got a hit he would have ended with a .3596 batting average. The padres manager bruce bochy said he didn't know it was that close ( yeah right ) and besides it was important to win the game. like I said the padres SUCK. JonR

I think they are competing with Seattle to screw things up.
Before the Allstar break, they were doing great, after break, they haven't done very well.
Irritating.

The Padres do suck! And I dont like Albert Pujols either. He gets compared to Bonds all the time. At one point when him and Bonds each lead the league with 44 home runs, Bonds had 200 LESS at bats than Pujols.

No comparision...yet...GO GIANTS!!!!
