I was recently blessed with what KingofSmithville touted as his Hoya de Ricky Ricardo Petit Corona ISOM. When the package arrived it was actually a Saint Luis Rey Petit Corona ISOM. While somewhat upset that I had been misled (I really liked the I Love Lucy show), I was still thrilled to add another ISOM to my inventory.

Fast forward to today. I'm one of those strange peope who prefer doing something when I smoke my favorite cigars. My favorite sticks are typically smoked while on the golf course or while doing exterior chores around the house... so, this afternoon, I fired up the aforementioned Hoya de Ricky Ricardo and here's my review.

Prelight aroma was tyical ISOM smelling like something between a barn yard and my 11th grade girlfriend's armpit (for newbies, this is a very good thing!) I used a V-cut since it was a smaller ring gauge and put an extra V-cut (making an 😵 for good measure.

I fired up the foot and got a good burn going and inhaled... pure delight. The white, billowy smoke was more akin to smoke you'd get from a much larger ring gauge and while smoking the first 1/4 of the stick, I was sure the King was mistaken and had mislabled a Macaundo Vintage or some equally smooth and mild cigar. But, as I took a few more puffs on the stick, that thought disappeared. I realized that this sleek, smooth, velvety baby had a humongous mule kick. I quickly got down off the ladder I was working on and sat down on my porch swing.

As I smoked to the halfway mark, a distinct change had occurred in the cigar. While it was still smooth as silk, a headier, more robust flavor had taken over. No mocha/chocolate flavors here... just a cedary, spice and pepper that had me drooling.

I continued to enjoy this delicious cigar for the next 35 minutes (total smoke time was 50 minutes). It maintained the headier taste profile through the nub... and I did nub this... to the fingernail... would've used a roach clip had I had one.

All I can say is WHOA!! and give a big thank you to the KingofSmithville for allowing me to enjoy this remarkable ISOM smoke.

Cheers,

arwings,
I live in the bayou and my 11th grade girlfriend had braids in her armpits... and she was a keeper. Her 'pits smelled like a lot of things... Secret wasn't one of them. 🙂

Cheers,
