Hi everyone. I'm sitting at work (an unamed Air Force base in the Florida Panhandle) and I got to wondering how those birthday club dealies work. Can somebody A. Enlighten me and B. Tell me how I get started.

Thanks!

go to the trades board and ask if someone is starting one/ will let you join/ wants to start one with you

It's pretty simple - you need an organizer who sends everyone in the group a list of members names, addresses, birthdays and cigars that they'd like to get on their birthday. then when someone's birthday rolls around, everyone sends out packages of cigars to them. when your b-day comes, you'll get like 10-20 packages of cigars - nothing better! I think one just started, but don't know if anyone else is forming one - go ask!

Are you going to start a club one up -- say from Feb 04 to Feb 05? If so, I'd be glad to lend a hand -- or run it I guess. I asked earlier about one, but the most recent was underway.

The only thing is I'd like to request is that we put a limit on the "gifts" -- say no more than 10 gars or a dollar amount -- to keep it reasonable for all club members, especially for those herfers who have a limited budget. Of course, there will be some who will deviate and bomb the &$%@ out of some folks, but that's their God-given CBid right, eh!!!

Am I off base on this limitation clause, CBidders? Just curious ...

Let me know what you think, ess! And to anyone who might be interested in a "LB" Birthday Club -- give a holler!

We limited ours to 20 bucks and shot for around 3 sticks. Go look at the list of smokes people are getting. 10 is too Many!

In the Original Birthday Club, we limited it to 2 Premium smokes, no dollar limit. Just a cigar that you would consider a treat, and save for a special occassion. At that time, I thought of CAO, as a special treat. Now the special treats, are PAMs, ISOM's, Hemingway Maddies. It is amazing how much difference, a year makes. Not to mention getting spoiled when the bombs finish landing, and you have all those great cigars to smoke. I found that most people in the original Birthday Club, couldn't count. Also found out what a super Premium domestic cigar was like. Also discovered the unique flavor of ISOM's. What was once, my go to cigar, is now a dog rocket, and my everyday smokes, were once my special occassion smokes.

INSTRUCTIONS

Make a spreadsheet, with everyones Birthday, cbid handle, real name, email address, snailer, and cigar preferences. Check the references, of any whom you have never traded with. I didn't with the original birthday club. Just got lucky I guess. Attatch the spreadsheet, and email it to everyone in the club. You may want to limit the number of birthdays allowed per month. 5 Birthdays, in one month, can put a strain on the cigar budget, unless you have a good stock, I do now, didn't then. Of course, back then I spent money on things like house payments, truck note, which I no longer have, PAID THEM OFF Yahooooooooo. Now I can spend money on the important things, cigars, single malt scotch, and women. LOL

If you start a birthday club, have fun. I hope you enjoy yours half as much as I enjoyed mine. If so you will be having a blast.

Thanks all. I checked the trades board but couldn't find any info on B-day clubs other than ones already in progress. So after being duly advised I have moved my little self over to the trades board. Thanks for the info! Looks like we have some activity already, I'm pumped!
