I have a Cigar Oasis in a 300 count humidor, with about 200 cigars in it. I open it a little less than once a day and live in Tucson Arizona. It’s very dry here, and the heater and air conditioner makes it even drier. My question is this:

How often can I refill the container? The original lasted about 1 ½ months and I’ve already refilled it twice in the 3 months after that. I thought this thing would last at least 4 months. I’m not sure I’m ready to order one of these every 2 months.

How many times have you refilled it before replacing it?

I've heard that the container ought to be replaced once a year to replace the PG in it. when refilling, you should only use distilled water, as using 50/50 will increase the overall PG content. I wouldn't bother replacing it any sooner than 9 mo. but I;m kinda new to them also.

Bought one last year...thought it would solve my problems...but i too live in an arid area (el paso / socorro) texas to be exact.

The water cartridge did not last me very long...nope, sure did not...

So built a coolidor...and put some Climmax Beads in it...no problems since...

Tucson...hey i visit twice a year...probably be out there in March...

i have the oasis that i refill myself and have had it for 2 weeks and i think its the best thing ever in a 700 ct humi...i checked it once and added a little but i live in chicagoland where humidity is usually never below %60

Boy...........that's a tough question to answer. I've had the Oasis for about 11 months and have refilled the cartridge twice with distilled water. BTW, DO NOT OVERFILL as it can cause the unit to malfunction (personal experience speaking). I have ordered another cartridge refill to have on standby. One thing I have noticed as I've refilled the original cartridge: It seems to last for less and less time with each refill. I also wonder if the anti-mold agent is diminished each time? I figure I will fill it one more time (4, original plus 3 refills), then replace the cartidrige.

I've also noticed that they have come out with the Oasis Plus. The only difference I can see is that the Plus is "designed" to simply be refilled with distilled water. Makes me wish I hadn't invested in the original. Oh well..........Just my thoughts..............

I've had mine for 6 months and have had to do one refill (GA) I've actually been happy with mine.

buy a room humidifier and keep your humidor in that room with the door closed

I use Climaxx Media, the stuff museums use to regulate humidity, in all of my humidors and only have to refill the containers every 4-6 weeks depending on the season.

I highly recommend this stuff to anyone and everyone!
