well not really, I smoked my first this morning and it was, in it's own right, a good cigar. Burned straight as an arrow, good draw, and way smooth all the way to the end. I was just expecting a little more flavor. CI's write up claimed it to be medium to full bodied, so I expected something more assertive. It was Good but, compared to other Bucs, mild and kinda one dimensional. Are they all this boring or did I just get a flat one?

I only had one so far, but mine was also mild. I liked it, for when you are in a mild mood.

I found them to be Mild-Medium with a nice creamy flavor profile. X

Good Call Martini!!! My thoughts exactly.

It is bittersweet to hear of negative Bucanero reviews. 99% of the time.....too high of expectations. Sure, they can get a little pricey, but cost and hype don't always guarantee you a good or a bad experience, and many people's tastes are different. Bittersweet, cause maybe I'll find the Z for cheaper now, but IMO, when you sit down to have a Bucanero....just enjoy what you are doing and smoking, don't think so much.
I have been on a Buc tear the last 3 weeks, and have purchased all the lines in boxes, and the Z is in a leaugue of it's own.....and really couldn't be compared to many cigar tastes that are found in a "lighter-wrapper" cigar. Same with the Crew.

Disclaimer: All MHO from smoking 4 "Z"'s.

GREAT with morning/afternoon coffee.

And... thanks to Smelly, I'll be able to offer my opinion on the "Z" tomorrow.

Cheers,

It was in fact a pretty good cigar, just not what I expected. I'll have to try one again when I'm in the mood for something mild.

I smoked a Bucanero once

And yes, they are all that boring...

Smoke a Cupido Comemorative, taste similar but better I think, and a thrid the price.

BeatDragon --- you lie ...

... that is not what YOU told me once ... hehehe!

bildo --- make up your own mind. You will find a few here who do not like them, but that is just their personal tastes and preferences. And, there are so many different lines to try ... all different.

If you do a search, you will see that those who dislike them are in the 'far minority' at these forums ...

I was sent a Buancero Classic Maduro Churchill from a friend that had been resting in his humidor for over a year, and it is COVERED in bloom/plume. I can't wait to try it, because he told me it has developed into a whole new flavor profile ...

... I can not ususally keep mine that long ...

I did a rave review here on the Z. I loved it! It changed flavors more than any cigar I've ever had.

Maybe it's just me ...

... but I find them to be very similar to a PAN ...

Sorry to hear you didn't like, or your expectations were low on the Buc Z. I myself like them and yes they are a great morning smoke or a nice smooth evening smoke. Mine has changed characteristics as I smoked them, but to each his/her own. The Z is said to be comparable to the CAO Black, and I beleive that is a good comparison. If anyone is disappointed in their Z's, send them my way, heheheeeee.
