I just found out an Officer assigned to one of my prior duty stations was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan. He was one of the servicemen dealing with the ammo stash which detonated. I did not know the young man but my father (yes I am a second generation government employee) e-mailed him often while he was in county to let him know how the St. Louis Cardinals where playing. It brings it home when it affects friends and family. God bless him and his family.
