It was very nice. Someone equated it to a CAO Black. I could say it may be similar, but not enough for me to make a comparison. I'd put it toward the bottom of the Buc list that I've sampled for my taste.

I'm not too huge a fan of spicy cigars ala the Salsa, though I eat more spicy food than anyone I know, including the south-of-the-border kitchen staff at my restaurant.

Smoked my 5th "Z" out on the golf course today, and was once again impressed with construction, burn, and how the flavor changes from a mild to a medium bodied cigar.

The wrapper almost looked like a light Rosado/cnnt.Shade, with minimal veins. My Bucanero list of faves go a little somethin like this:

1.Peg Leg

2.Don Douglas

3.Full Sail

4.Crew

5.Clasico Maduro

6.Z

7.Salsa

8.Texas Star

JMO, though

aaarrrrggghhhhh love the Z - one of the best mild to medium cigars out there - I found lots of enjoyable flavor - the Salsa is certainly a strong and spicy devil not to be taken lightly....

hmm...ranking your favorite Buc's...that's a tough one...

okay, i'm drooling over here wanting to try the salsa!

what's the spiciness like? are we talking (i hope) a peppery quality, or is this like smoking a cinammon stick or lighting up a habañero pepper?

i have to say, i have yet to encounter a cigar that was TOO spicy for me in a peppery sense. the more, the better. my problem is finding even heavy-duty strength cigars to be lacking in the pepper. 😞

so far the spiciest smoke i had was a Suarez. beautiful med-strength, creamy CTSH, but FULL ON with spice. my eyes were seriously watering as i smoked it to the nub, and i was in ABSOLUTE HEAVEN.

that said, does it sound like the salsa would be something i should try?

I really like the Z due to it's ever changing flavor profile. My favorites change depending on my mood.

Peg Leg, Full Sail, Salsa, Z ummmmm.

Salsa, spicy like cioppino (more like a blend of spices rather than one overpowering flavor like pepper) and relatively full flovored and full bodied. I like it alot.

I doubt if anyone would call the Salsa TOO spicy. It certainly was enjoyable, but spicy is just not my FAVORITE cigar flavor.

IMHO, Salsa is spicy like the "O" maduro is. The ultime spice, to me, is the little fireplug Short Story. Woooooof!

The "Z" has one of the "cleanest" box-presses I have ever seen. Second only to the Padron Millenium, and that is saying a ton!

Just had another Z today with Hawaiian coffee. Holy wow that puppy changed. mild-medium-back to mild, then earthy, smooth, clean-burning tobacco taste. Very pleasant cigar. chubby box-pressed, smooth wrapper...a little light rosado look to it. Highly reccomended, and I am very glad 2 boxes sit at the bottom of one of my coolie-dores.
