Hey guys...question. I fired up a Torano Exodus 1959 last night......did I just get a bad one? Or do these things suck? I started with a nice angle cut, fair draw on the pre-light test. Heated the foot, and then lit fine. From there......down hill. It started to run like a bad joint. I took my time and did everything I could to slow it down or stop it....to no avail. I finally resorted to cutting off the lit part and restarting, and then it wouldn't even light properly! I think I have heard some good stuff about these, but want to make sure before I try another? You know? Oh by the way, the humi is functioning perfectly with no other cigars acting anything close to this. So yeah....is this cigar worth giving a second chance?

Thanks in advance for you help!

Dave

You humi may be sorking correctly, but sounds like that stick wasn't humidified evenly. One side burned faster than the other becuase it was drier.

I went through boxes of Exodus and it never happened to me b4. How long was the cigar stored in your humi b4 you fired it up, and what was the humidity?

The humi has been holding steady at 67%. Which is right where I like it. The other cigars, in same level etc smoke fine. It was one I got in sample pack from a great BOTL here on cbid. So I know it had some time in his humi, as well as about a month or more in mine. I don't think it was a storage problem as much as just a bad one out of many. I know with the better smokes, it doesn't happen very often. But before I went and searched one out to try again, I just wanted to make sure it was worth the effort.

Thanks again

i would say definitely give it another chance. even when my storage system was total crap, the toraños in it still burned true. i keep my cigars at 67% now, too, and still watch it like a hawk.

Wierd,

The Exodus, is a fine smoke. I have never had a single problem with anything made by Torano. Try another, you hit a 1 in 1000. I'll bet you love the next one.

The '59 has been one of my "go to" cigars for a long time. Never had the problem you describe with some aging on them (they are densely packed and do need time to stabilize). Of course, I like my cigars between 60 and 65 degrees, with 65 being pretty much max. Definitely worth giving another try. Just my thoughts...........

Guys...thanks for the remarks, and such on this cigar. I did get another (thanks Sonny) and smoked it up last night. Very enjoyable!! Glad I gave it another shot. My review....seems someone else reviews the way that I would.

I lit it, it smoked alot, I liked it.

WTG Sonny! I told you Dave, these are some of my faveorite gars! I don't often bid on whole boxes of the name-brand stuff, cuz that gets pricey. I usually bid on boxes of stuff I can smoke everyday and not go bankrupt 🙂 but I DID bid on a box of these in my favorite size, and went to bed about fifteen minutes before the auction closed, only to find out when I woke up I had been sniped five minutes before the end of the auction 😞 Oh well, I hop they enjoy their almost retail gars! That's another nice thing about almost all the Torano line! They are almost all about $3-5 a stick! ($8-10 for Tributes) Name someone else who rolls cigars this good for this reasonable!

I had my first Torano ever during the Daytona 500 and it happened to be this very one (gold) and I absolutely loved it. Like someone else said - try it again. I didn't care for the cao criollo - which was weird because so far I've liked all other caos that I have smoked. everyone told me if I got ahold of another one to try it again, could have been just a bad one. haven't come across another one to give it another try, but when I get another one I will do just that. best to try things twice just in case!

I really like the CAO Criollos. They make excellent breakfast cigars.
