I've seen some closed bid biding history, and it occurred to me that when there's more than 1 of the same item for people to bid, how come the guy who has auto-bid function on usually gets outbid last? (the other bids are higher than the one with autobid function)...

From cbid's "rules for winning bid determination" at
http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/program/help.cfm#bidding

"1. An auto-bidder with a higher maximum bid takes top priority over other bidders at the same bid price."

This may mean that if a new party bids higher than that currently bid by a group of mixed (auto-bidders/nonauto-bidders), the nonauto-bidders get bumped out first, not the autobidders. That may explain what you're seeing.

If you bid early enough your bid will be one of the last to go up, if using autobid. As long as you are not completely out bid by a non-auotbid using bidder.

Whoa, how many times can you put bid in a sentence? :>)

In other words, there are two criteria for winning a bid: First, obviously, is highest price. But the second is the earliest bid. If two people use autobid, the guy with autobid ALREADY in place will beat out the guy using autobid at a later time OR the guy who places a single bid at a later time.

If that didn't confuse you, Great! If it did, give Customer Service a call at 800-830-4590, ext 231.
