too late to grow up. first, these discussion are discourse, second i don't remember discussing the coup recently, third if i have mentioned it, it's because it is important. remember these lackies in washington, republican and democrat alike are supposed to there to serve us, not for self aggrandizement. they call each other the honorable so and so. i think that there is more honor in the soprano family than in dc. at least the sopranos know they are gangsters. the few decent people that get elected are either corrected to the way things are done in dc, or they are eliminaed from competition by the resources of the two parties.
tailgator: the state of oregon or washington decided that if people wanted to be euthanized and they met the criteria that the people of the state along with the medical and psychiatric communities thought was reasonable, they could ask their doctors for the help they wanted. some women want abortions. the christian
faith network, as you called it, under the justice dept headed by ashcroft are telling the people of that state, they doctors will be arrested, because it is against the church he is involved with to commit suicide. as soon as he can he will go after doctors for abortions. right now he is doing nothing to help the medical facilities that have asked for protection against the loonys that kill the dr's and bomb the hospitals. soon we will all be praying in school to a god a lot of don't believe in. remember falwell said if you ae not born again in jesus, you ain't going to heaven. this is the arrogance that ashcroft represents and like it or not you are headed to the corral.

1)" i understand that carter will be in florida as he has been in other third world countries, to make sure the election for governer is honest. shame he wasn't there for the last coup." 2)"Rick, How right you are. I'm getting close to military retirement but I think I will have to wait until we have an elected President to sign my retirement papers not an appointed Governor."

KBG,,,,cute. However, unlike your hero, I was never in a communist country, protesting the actions of my homeland. And unlike you, I do not despise a man because he was born into a wealthy family and made great financial decisions. I would rather have a man at the helm who is driven by financial experience and has at least some seeming degree of virtue, than a man driven by the burning in his loins and personal pride. And anyone who believes the robotics of a Gore speech would be handling our current situation better than Bush, is only fooling themselves and ammusing the rest of us.

JBG: i totally agree with gore as a what, i don't know. maybe he is happy as a teacher. he was the class stiff, the guy who loosened his tie an inch and rolled the cuffs of his sleeves once and thought he was dressed casual. i don't dispise or even hate bush for any reason. i just think he is a spoiled brat with no brains, who never did anything on his own, and who has been crowned prince of the fiefdom. not his fault that he was born with a silver syringe in his arm. clinton was never my hero i just think we had prosperity and a surplus because of him. we agree on more than you believe.

navy guy: Although I was relieved that the crew of the P3 returned home safely, I know deep down that they should have done EVERYTHING necessary to prevent the plane from getting into enemy hands. Including crashing it. I was against the "hero's welcome". But you still need to rethink your stance on Bush. Even if you don't agree with his politics, he IS the President and your boss's boss. To say otherwise can easily be construed as ignorant.

Rick, Assisted Suicide and Abortion are seperate subjects. Don't fall into the "give them an inch they'll take a mile" Liberal swill. We can discuss the finer points of both at your leisure. And then you carry the "same" argument out to where your afraid that you'll live to see the combining of Church and State? C'mon! Don't be so paranoid. And as for the lack of protection at the killing fields you call an abortion clinic: Do you mean to say that there has been less protection at these facilities since Clinton left. Or are you just now noticing because it suits your argument? ...

TAILGATOR: "Liberal swill" , shamre on you. you cn do better than that. "killing fields" i am not in favor of abortions. women have been having abortions since the begining of time. abortions used to be done after the baby was born. if the infant was the incorrect sex for the tribe, they killed it. the killing fields were the back room butchers that perfomed abortions, the old lady in the back that did it with a coat hanger. it was done. is is done. it will be done. le it be done by doctors in a hospital with protection for the patient. there is no protection now that ashcroft is in. he fails to respond to the clinics that ask for help. "And then you carry the "same" argument out to where your afraid that you'll live to see the combining of Church and State?" the first time the ten commandments were hung on a wall of a government bullding church and state were combined.
i have no problems with the ten commandments, it was given to one of my ancestors.

So you do realize that the violence at abortion clinics has not increased? Bush is not doing more than Clinton, but he isn't doing less. As for having doctors perform abortions, I agree. I am against abortions, but as long as they're legal Real Doctors should perform them. But not on my tax dollar and not by my insurance company, unless medically necessary. As for the 10 Commandments, who cares where it's posted as long as it is not forced upon you? Nobody has any intention of forcing you to remain holy on the Sabboth, nor does the Government force you to Honor Him. So why are you being so petty? What if one of the Supreme Court Justices wore a Cross or a Star of David around his/her neck? Would That be a problem? When you whine about non-issues it makes your other arguments less effective.
