one of my favorite musicians. rest easy, ray.

today, complications of liver disease, died at his home surrounded by family and friends. rest in peace Mr. Charles!

My Mom is a huge Ray Charles fan. I grew up listening to his music all the time...(sigh)

One of my favorite memories is when he and Eddy Murphy (Eddy was pretending to be Ray, with the glasses and the back and forth movements) did a duet on a song. Classic, funny stuff...(heavier sigh)

So much soul, so much feeling, and man what a voice.

Ray Charles is a National Treasure and I am going to miss him greatly. I would go see him live whenever he would appear live locally. I will be smoking a very special cigar this evening for this great man!

I loved Ray's music.

I saw an interview one time on TV. They were talking to some of his backup singers, the "Rayletes" One of them made a pretty revealing admission... They said, "if you want to be a Raylete, you have to 'let Ray'" It's good to be the king...

This hurts, another good one....
Is there a funnier scene in any movie than in The Blues Brothers when he shoots at that kid thats trying to steal a guitar from his shop? and there are very few people the could sing America the Beautiful better than he did, that song helped get me through 9-11. What a talent.

He's got the right one ba-by.... hehehe... I like that...
