That's the first time you fire a rifle in boot camp. 3 round triangulation fire @ 25 yds to set your BZO on the M16A2. 3 dime group if it's done right and the PMI is worth a sh*t.

Yeaup... echo4alpha = former marine! I was taught how to shoot by a Marine corps staff sargeant. Those boys know how to shoot and they know how to teach. I shoot expert with a 9MM, .45, M-16 and an M-14. At 200 yds with an M-14 I had 15 shots in a 3 inch circle.

In fact... the last time I shot the 9MM was against our Small arms instructor on the ship... he asked me to help him qual some people who were having difficulties and after we were done, he and I shot for lunch... total possible score = 240. Him = 229, Me = 240. 😉

Thank you Staff Sargeant Hix!

Being a Republican, who is opposed to the Christian Coillition element in our party and also believes in right to choice when it comes to abortion, and I am very much for stem cell research, it will come as no surprise that I believe in gun registration! Mine are registered! This is such a silly argument!

Yes gun control is having two hands on the gun, and it should be a registered gun as well!

charlie,
you register your car because it is a privilege, arms falls into the catagory of our rights. if you register your arms the man will know who, where, and what to go after when ever they feel like it. registered arms won't stop crime..when was the last time a criminal registered!

MACS, I said last one to the sandbox was a rotten egg!
Well, my CZTE and IFP/HDP started today! LOL

*********Threadjack OFF**********

Charlie, registration is just the governments way of figuring out whose house to raid first when they CAN get a ban passed! What do I base this on? Germany in the 1930's, Russia in the 1920's, China in the 1940's, Mexico in the 1960's.......

Gun registration? Sent a shiver down my back. None of mine are registered and there's no reason they should be. No need to fear me as a gun owner or any of my guns, for I am NOT a criminal (and many people like to blame guns for violence, but remember, it's mostly the PERSON behind the gun). Remember criminals? Those who by definition break the laws of the land?!

Wow great thread. Thanks to all for the great advice on control. I just finished taking my Hand Gun Safety course. You see I am a traditional archer but I am interested in shooting black powder guns. If I want to own a blackpowder gun here I need an FID card. The cost and education required for an FID card and a License to Carry is the same. Instead of just getting an FID I'm going for the LTC. I live in the totally anal state of Mass so now instead of me just being able to get a blackpowder gun and maybe a shotgun I will be able to carry and own any legal gun. I can't wait I have to see the chief of police this week. yippee

I to think that registration is only an end around that will result some day in retro-active confiscation of my guns. That is something I would fight against as I personally own several pre-ban assult weapons. And yes boys and girls I even have been known to hunt with them which is legal in the states I hunt in.

I have no problem with background checks or waiting periods. Hell even ballistic finger printing is fine as long as it is done at the factory before it ever get to me.

As far as anyone fearing me and my guns damn skippy you better fear me cause I train with mine all the time. I probably expend somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-8 thousand rounds a year.

I have no registered firearms.
I do have many preban assult rifles, and over a hundred firearms total. Many were inherited, as both my father, and grandfather, collected every gun they could get their hands on. I had a gun dealers license, for several years, but never sold a gun, bought plenty though.
If they come to get my guns, they will have to pry the last one, from my cold dead fingers.
As for registering them, they can KISS MY BIG WHITE @$$.

P.S. I fire my two primary home defense weapons, at least 3 times a week. It helps that I live less than 2 miles from the firing range.

Hey Stickbow, good luck with all the permits. So are you going to carry one of the blackpowders?! Can you imagine?!

Like the Outlaw Josey Wales, just carry SEVERAL blackpowder revolvers (sticking out of your belt in various places around your waist), that way you won't be out-gunned.

Haha.

how about a gun or two hidden on your person as well, like in the movies!

Current laws are enough for me. Some one has tried to break into my house at least twice in the past year. That is my reason for having a shotgun no more than 5 feet from my bed.

I have one question for JonR........Is every Marine a rifleman?

Mmmmmm Shotgun for home defense great choice. You'll probably never have to use it though. Illuminate -em with the under mounted mag light and jack one in the chamber and you'll reduce-em to a quivering puddle. LMAO

A friend of mine who was a cop gave me these words of wisdom: "Never underestimate the intimadation value of a shotgun being cocked." It's one of the most recognizable sounds in modern society. 🙂

Yours,
Sheila
