Gun control is all about breathing. Take in a deep breath and slowly let it out as you pull the trigger. Just relax and you're aim will improve. Practice and you can get you're grouping of your shots in order.

Can there be a life without firearms; I'm thinking that Hell must be the answer to that question.

I'm all for common sense rather then gun control. I think as a country, we should think more about what types of fire arms are sensible for the public to own rather then just piling on restrictions and taxes.

For example, you don't need a submachine gun to hunt deer. If you do, then you need to become a more skilled hunter. For pistols that are used for home protection, you should have to have a trigger lock on that bad boy.

No I don't use a gun to hunt deer anyway (use a bow). I believe people should be allowed to collect any firearm they want as long as they don't have a serious criminal background. NO MORE GOVERNMENTAL LAWS OR RESTRICTIONS PLEASE. thank you :-)>

If I want to hunt Bambi with an Uzi that is my choice. I dont like venison, but I do like to see the mangy animal shreaded to pieces.

As for the home protection...if I had gun locks on all my guns this heavily favors the bad guy sneaking into my house at 3 am. He'd be on top of me before I could get the lock off.

Ahem, Sheila? Could you please direct me in the Constitution to where it says guns are to be used for hunting? Technically, is hunting a right? And if it were, would you really need a gun at all to do it? People hunt with bows? People hunt with spears?

Additionally, could you please direct me in the Constitution to where it says my gun must have a "safety" lock on it? Help me out here, if you have no children, and own a gun in YOUR house and you are keeping and bearing arms per MY constitution, could you agree that the trigger lock or whatever may cost you valuable seconds in the event (God forbid) that push came to shove and you had to use the damn thing? Would that defeat the purpose?

If you're a target shooter and you CHOOSE to do this, fine, or a hunter and you CHOOSE to do this, fine, or have kids and want to protect them and you CHOOSE to do this, fine, but why should the imperial federal government tell me I have to put a safety lock on my gun that the Constitution of the United States of America says I can legally own? You are pro choice, aren’t you?

From what I’ve seen, those who would see greater restrictions placed on guns have “an agenda”. I.e., the posters here against the 2nd amendment neither own guns, nor in many cases believe that either you or I should be able own them.

They quietly pass restriction after restriction, I believe it’s called “incrementalism”, it’s the old Chinese water torture trick (employed very effectively by the Mossad…) where they take a little bit here, a little bit there, and a little more over here, until there’s nothing left. The rights are all gone!

And the individual smaller steps seem reasonable on their face, i.e., it’s for the children! We need gun locks!! Well I don’t hear them saying the driving age should be raised to 18? What’s the number one cause of death for 16 year old children? Hint, it’s not guns with no safety locks…

Sheila, The Second Amendment wasn't put in place to guarantee anyones right to hunt, or shoot indians or outlaws. The Second Amendment was put in place (in fact none of the states would ratify it until there WAS a guarantee of the people being armed) because the founding fathers were afraid of NOTHING more that the federal government they were in the process of creating! They wanted to ensure that if it ever tyrannized their children or grandchildren, that they had the means to throw off the yoke of tyranny! They government did not enact the National Firearms Act of 1934 (placing heavy controls on automatic weapons and sawed-off shotguns) in response to the gangsters of the day (Capone, Bonnie and Clyde, Machine-Gun Kelly et.al) but rather the Bonus Marchers of (I beleive it was) 1933. The sight of a thousand WW I veterans. all trained in the use of weapons and having a greivance against the government drove those in power to begin limiting the arms they had access to as civilians. Sound scary? It should! The dispersal of the Bonus Marchers was about as heinous as the dispersal of the students at Tiennemen Square, but funny, they don't even mention it in the history books.........

Wow... some very nice thoughts here. I am a small arms instructor, as well as an MP. I own a rifle and a pistol and my 15 year old son is proficient with both. Never locked them. They are sitting in my closet, unloaded, but with the magazines loaded, ready to insert. If anyone should dare to break into my house when I am gone, they have a 5'9", 185 lb, 15 year old can o' whoopass they weren't expecting.

Buckwheat my friend... the only reason I haven't made any more purchases is because I am thousands of miles from land and if I made them over the internet, they'd have to be shipped to my house. MY wife would not approve either. And you and echo4alpha have a box headed your way when I hit land. I think you'll like it. 😉
