How do you feel about zero tolerance? I think it sucks, unless you're talking quality control at the cigar factory.

Zero tolerance like a school that suspends a boy for pointing his finger at someone during recess and saying "Bang bang" like we all used do while playing cowboys and Native Americans. Zero tolerance in the workplace, where telling an ethnic joke can get you fired even if it's your own ethnicity. Zero tolerance for anything not PC.

We have zero tolerance (of anything) here in Ft. Worth schools. Here it equals zero judgment on the part of school administrators, so there have been some absurd results. Strict enforcement is good, but there are times when common sense should enter the picture.

eleltea: you are correct. zero tolerance is bs. it just gives an authority arbitrary decision making, like the kid suspended from school when they found a butter knife in the trunk of his car. he was helping a relative move and it fell out of a box. could have been a spoon or fork. it used to be called cowboys and indians. i don't think kids play games anymore unless they are on a computer. i personally think it explains the ease with which young people kill. sort of peter sellers in "being there". no sense of reality.

See Rick, tolerance here is one of the major components of global warming. But I have to agree subzero tolerance is so absurd it just isn't funny.
