No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women who serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, only get 50% of their pay at retirement. While Politicians, who hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, receive full pay retirement after serving ONE term. It just does not make any sense.



Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This is an idea that we should address.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This following proposal is one that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

Congress does not recieve full retirement pay after one term.

Congress used to have to serve 10 years for pension, has it changed? Still thats a hell of a deal but the best Job is Judge..

It is a hell of a deal to you.

But, how do you know what serving in Congress is like and how much it personally costs one to get and remain there?

Everyone thinks being a Judge is easy. Do you know what it is they actually do? How long or hard they work? What their work schedules are like? How unique their talent must be to be good at their job? How about how much more they could be earning in private law practice or otherwise, if they weren't serving?

You less opportunity of attracting "the best and the brightest" when you don't pay enough...

As someone who has served many high elected offices i know what it is like yes but i have rarley been paid much and have no Pension Opportunity. I did it because i believe in AMERICA, IT"S PRINCIPALS AND IDEALS AND I AM HONORED TO SERVE MY FELLOW MAN AND WOMAN.

If what we've had in government, with few exceptions, for the past 40 years is a fair representation of the 'best and brightest' among us despite the generous compensation package they already receive from the taxpayers, this nation is well and truly screwed.

From what I can see they've been mostly a slick bunch of BS artists who have four basic goals: get elected, get re-elected, fill their pockets, and fill the pockets of their benefactors.

No disrespect intended, but this is pure bunk.

Judges are by no means slouches, but neither are they the most industrius workers in the human race. To suggest that their lofty payscale equates to hard work is ridiculous.

And it's equally ridiculous when others try to "justify" their salaries.

Why can't people simply accept the fact that judges DO have a sweet deal going.
No appologies needed. By them nor their defenders.
