I am also a major supporter of Sweet Maria'a and the I Roast. Makes it convenient that I live 15 miles away from their Emeryville location in CA, too. I recommend the Liquid Amber blend for espresso, and roast 15 seconds into the 2nd crack...blend with a 1/6th of either Monsoon Malabar Gold or Harrar, for extra crema, pull a PAM from the humi, gaze at the Pacific on my deck, and the world seems pretty good....

I just recently left Sweet Marias. I didn't leave over prices, but I hate waiting 5 days to receive a coffee shipment, so I switched to a Chicago green bean supplier. I get my coffee next day, for $3 less shipping, and at a cheaper price. Although price was not a concern, it just happened that way.

cexshun - I just had to try some new guatemalan beans last night.... I was up way to late dammit. I've always liked coffee, but never really knew much of a difference between fresh roasted and other. I knew I liked fresh ground but thats as far as it went.

The difference between folgers and fresh roasted fresh ground in a press pot is kind of like the difference between a sancho panza and a monte #2 ISOM. I like the sancho panza but....

Anyway, now I am off to a local coffee roaster to see if I can get some unroasted beans from them...I think I need counceling.
