Here's a pic of the flag that was flown for the C-A-T. Pilot was Capt "Bearjew" Ragsdale. Him and I in front of the jet just prior to launch.

Call signs are normally given to them. We had one with a call sign of "booger". Even you might be able to figure out why. 🤦

If you've ever seen "Inglorious Bastards", there is a character in there named "BearJew". Not sure how it relates to him, but that's his callsign. The callsigns are usuallly picked by the CO in accordance with some sort of story behind it. i've heard some really weird ones. We had one named "Tranny"...and not for a transmission. Mine is "Hitman". Long story....
