The Mata Fina tobacco is characterized by complex aromas and an elegant bouquet, while the Mata Norte provides the full-bodied flavour most experienced cigar smokers enjoy.

THE BOXES
The boxes are entirely made by hand using the best cedar wood. The cedar itself is aged so that the wood does not skew once the box is ready.
Once the cigars are packed, the box receives a numbed seal, as well as a stamp indicating two dates; the date the cigars were rolled and the date they were boxed.
THE PRODUCTION OF THE CIGARS
CAPACITY
Tabacos Mata Fina has a workforce of 25 employees in its cigar production. The annual production is approximately 500,000 units. Tabacos Mata Fina's main goal is to maintain a constant production targeting to achieve perfection in each cigar manufactured.
QUALITY
Tabacos Mata Fina is committed to offer only the highest quality goods to the market. Cigars with high quality standards are supported by the following basic principles:
1. Guarantee of the best tobacco leaves: continuous supply of the best tobacco and rigorous selection of the leaves that are used in the manufacturing of our cigars. The tobacco is acquired from our own plantation and aged for at least 2 years.
2. Specialized workforce: only use the most experienced rollers in the region.
3. Rigorous quality control: continuous follow-up in each process. Our cigars are aged for at least 1 year in the cedar room and are 100% draw tested (drawmaster).
4. Well-finished packaging: packaging is 100% handmade, assuring quality on every box
produced.
5. Unique blend: composed of the best Brazilian tobacco available and carefully balanced for each “vitola” (size).
6. Perfect construction: compact filler without weak points, constant draw, and regular burn/ash.
Set-up
The tobacco is double checked as soon as it reaches the factory. The first step is the fumigation process applied to prevent the leaves from plagues. After that, the leaves are separated and classified according to their size and type. The leaves selected as fillers and binders have the stem removed.
Cigar Construction
The roller prepares the filler which receive the binder. This is the art of blending different tobacco leaves. The master blender continuously checks the blend before sending the filler to the plastic molds which will be pressed to achieve a good consistency. Each cigar is then tested in the drawmaster to make sure that the draw is smooth. Finally, the cigar carefully receives the wrapper which provides its final aesthetics. The cigars are cut in its respective dimensions and go through a rigorous quality process that checks the ring, length, weight, imperfections, and spots.
Care
The cigars are taken to a temperature of negative 20-25ºC. This thermal shock is done to prevent any potential plague development. The cigars rest in a special room to lose humidification and ammonia. The cigars are then separated in bundles of 50 and rest for at least 1 year in the cedar room. This resting period allows the tobacco to undergo further aging and the different leaves to “marry”, as well as removing all residual ammonia that was left in the tobacco.
Packaging
The cigars are classified according to the color of the wrapper and the wrapper roll direction on each cigar. A final visual inspection is done before the cigar receives its ring and is finally packed in their boxes.
THE LOGO
The Monte Pascoal Logo was hand drawn by an illustrator. The Logo is a representation of different elements relating to the discovery of Brazil in 1500 by Pedro Alvares Cabral. Translated into English, Monte Pascoal means Easter Mountain. Monte Pascoal (Easter Mountain) was the first piece of land sighted by Cabral upon his arrival to the new land. The date was Wednesday, April 22nd during the week of Easter.
