What a jerk...Biggest jerk in baseball...What an ass!!!!

http://cbsnewyork.com/topstories/topstoriesny_story_010111516.html

My question is....why in the F%^K is this even reported.

Its the media my cigar puffin friends. The fuel of all evil, disparity, rumor, gossip, perception etc etc... They push a freakin camera up someones nose, anytime any place and if an athelete behaves in a less than stellar way, acording to these butt heads which means kissing their asses, lets plaster it all over the freakin place. Call him a jerk, an ingrate. I guess everyone in the media is freakin Mother Theresa and has never had a bad day, or done ANYTHING wrong. It sickens me.

Moss does something assinine...lets make it front page news instead of burying it where it belongs. He feels no remorse. He isnt going to change. So why give it the time of day.

I hate the media of today.

not much of a story there. was the camera man "in his face?" doesn't the media annoy the heck out of most sports celebrities at one time or another. i've seen randy johnson speak on TV a number of times, and he's always been pretty calm and quiet. i wonder if he was pushed by the news crew, or if he really is a jerk.

beat, is this a setup?

Randy's an OK guy, but he's not going to fare too well in NY if he can't tolerate intense media scrutiny a bit better than that ...

Set up?

No, no set up. No hidden agenda here. I dont think Johnsons a jerk for telling those jamokes to get out if his face. Nor do I think some one like Barry Bonds is a jerk for doing similar things. Or any other sports figure for tha matter. The whole role model thing is a sham perpetrated by....THE MEDIA! Maybe he politely asked to not be bothered. If so, then of course "they" would omit that. And...if he did ask to not be bothered, then turn around and walk away. Do your job, get another story instead of getting pissy and being well....a jerk and reporting what you did. Interesting how it was another keyboard jocky that said the story was valid....barf

Just my disdain for the piss ant sports media. And the media in general for that matter.

Why should a sports guy have to "tolerate" the media when they, the media, dont "tolerate" anything that isnt to their liking?

They are rude, invasive, parasites with little or no integrity. All they care about is the deadline. Factual accounts be dammned.

What the hell in the grand scheme of all things around us does this matter????

To me, it should never have been a story. CBS 2 cameras and a reporter should have never been there. What good reason was there to film the guy...

going to the doctor? So frickin' what. It's sensationalism at it's finest.

CBS 2 NEWS EDITOR: Get me the story... IF there's no story...make a story out of something like...going to the doctor. Ya that's it... follow the guy into the doctor's office. By the way, he may be a grouch. Take Big Al with you.

REPORTER: "Got it Chief !!"

BIG AL: "Can I finish my sandwich first?"

REPORTER: " And let Len Berman scoop us !!! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND????!!!!"

I'd say it is more the station and cameramans wrong doing. They know he is going to take a physical, but they have no business reporting that. Unless its a slow news day, LOL! There are a lot of news casters (sports particularly) that think they are above any sports morals. I can name a few, and the worst is on Channel 4 here in the Bay Area, aka Gary Radnich.

I agree, the media can (and does) act like a bunch of parasites at times. These celibs are not much better be it a sports star or movie star. Much of their fame and fortune comes from the media. The talent they have gets them so far then the media builds them into Gods.

Not trying to excuse the actions of either party but they need each other to stay alive. Just look at the runway before the Oscars. Bulbs flashing, people screaming everywhere and the "stars" soak it all up.

Then once and a while the media gets in their face and now they get upset? Sorry buddy, no sympathy here. They love to see their face splashed all over the TV, billboards, commercials but only on their terms. Like it or not, it comes with the territiory, they knew this when they signed that mega million dollar contract. Don't like it? Go sell insurance or used cars somewhere. It's not like you need your current job to make ends meet.

IMHO most of the blame lays at the God makers. Who are also the God destoyers. Which ever fuels their fancy at the time. They feed these egos and then tear them down when they become unmanageable even tho they are the ones that fuel the egos. There irresponsibility is appauling. The ability to differencitae BS from news has escaped them. They use the thin veil of "the public has a right to know" instead of thinking if the public should really care.
Why do they think they have the right, just because you are an entertainer, to envade your privacy at will? To delve into every aspect of a humans life? So the brainlkess masses no life can live vicariously thru these Gods...its sickening.

In general I agree Beat,

My take is that it's a symbiotic relationship. Without either one, they both wither on the vine. No tears shed for either one.

If the Gods don't like the limelight, then take up another line of work. Don't see too many paparazzi chasing around a world class plumber, house painter, welder...

If they have it so bad, trade places with a single mother trying to raise 3 kids, or a GI sleeping in a trench. Not to let the media off the hook but the Gods do need to get some perspective.

Sad but true. I heard years back that they polled pro athletes and they thought the median income in the US was around $100,000...yikes

I had one chase me the other day....the ****..

If it wasn't for the media, Johnson would be delivering bottled water.

Did anyone see David Letterman Tuesday night? Randy was on it and I heard parts on the radio, LOL. David was telling Randy he did nothing wrong and the cameraman is the one that should be appologizing, not him, heheheeee.

donutboy obviously you don't know jack about baseball.

The cameraman was right in his face with his lens. There's no reason for that. Certainly he could "zoom" if wanted a gnat's ass closeup.
