Just a note...take it for what it's worth...having spent 14 years in the frozen winter wonderland that's Michigan...move the humidor away from the window and an outside wall.

I personally think there is no better way to humidify than that gell that will soak up like 300% of its own weight in water. Cat litter or beads are fine too. But check that gel out

I used a Cigar Oasis II for more then 7 years in my standup humidor much like your model, worked fine except for the last few years, the sponge started get moldy, replaced and ended up with the same issue.
Trying a new design, LE VEIL DHC55 Gel Humidifier, I like the design better and it actually cost less then the Oasis. Look at Thompson Cigar for the gel humidifier.
