Rick Perry says that Social Security is a Ponzey scheme. Isn't car, homeowners, life and health insurance a ponzey scheme, too. You pay in today so that if someone needs to file a claim they can collect. If everyone tried to file a claim at once the insurance companies could't pay everyone. Someone has to pay for all those expensive corporate offices and salaries. At least with social security there is not a motivation for profit.

Social Security is a modified ponzi scheme. It perpetually needs new blood to buy into the bottom rungs of the ladder or it would fail. It is self-fixing however because if there is nobody to buy into the bottom rungs of the ladder, the law is in place to slash benefits to prevent a true failure in a ponzi sense. It really just becomes legally overpromise, legally underdeliver.

Come-on guys, we still have time before Perry the chosen summons the glory of his theocracy upon us – How about a chorus of ‘Hail to the Chief’ before superstition attacks democracy?

BTW – Perry has been leading prayer groups here in Texas for the rain we need state wide. No rain as yet, but some Republicans are building arcs . . . .
