Is it really this rough at Eagles games?

I've been part of the Sox/Yankees rivalry for some time and know that it can be a little rough for visiting fans...but not like this.

"We were warned that Philadelphia fans would be rough, the worst in the league, and my son begged me not to wear this jersey," said Hoppe, of suburban Detroit. "Fans are supposed to come to games, not thugs. But these people had their hands on me constantly.

I'm not defending any fan for any of this type of behavior. It's reprehensible to say the least. But if you already know there's a possibility that things like this will happen, maybe you should take the warnings seriously. Mom should just be glad her son does not play for the Chargers and she has to go to a Raider game...In Oakland...Or, vise versa, where the rivalry is taken far beyond the people shoving and beer bottle tossing stages.

It's sad when the reputation of your team is is tarnished by lunatic "fans". It would be nice to just go and enjoy a game with your family or friends. Most fans of most cities are considerate and want the same thing. It's those "special few" that ruin it for everyone else.

We're sorry Mom.

Yep Ryan,
It really is that bad. However, It's much more civilized now that the Eagles play at the Linc. You should have seen the mayhem at the Vet. In those days, if the game got boring, you could just scan the 700 level (top level in the stadium) and pick out any number of fistfights going on at the same time.

Philadelphia had the privilige of having a court with presiding judge (good ol' Honorable Seamus P Mccaffery) during games, in the stadium, to immediately adjudicate our wonderful drunk and disorderly fans.

If you coming to the NFC championship game on Sunday and your a Falcons fan, it's ok to wear your jersey. Just don't flaunt it. If by chance the Falcons win... run like mad, cause the Iggles fans will be lookin' to vent their frustration at someone's expense.

"Her daughter-in-law, Christina Liwienski, said she was hit in the head by a plastic beer bottle."

Didn't think they served beer in the plastic bottle. I've never seen one, all I seen was them pooring it into plastic cups before serving.

I honestly think the Eagles fans are no worse than others. They get a bad rep. I see plenty of visitors jerseys at games and unless they are looking for trouble the fans leave them alone. Hey...there is always a few in a crowd but as a hole I don't think they are that bad.

Not to be a b*tch, but their fans are the reason I hate that team so much. They are rude, whiney babies, immature, and need to get a life.

I am a diehard Eagles fan. Although I never threw batteries at the opposing team, and won't boo Santa Claus, I will always love my team, city, and fellow fans. If you think Eagles fans are bad, go to a Philadelphia Wings game when they play Buffalo 😉

Hey SteveR

I've never had a Philadelphia wing before. What do they do? Fry them up with musrooms, peppers, onions and CheezeWhiz?

Sorry. Too early to start drinkin...

Great game yesterday. Atlanta will have their work cut out for them.

No, I'm sure the Eagles fans on the forum are cool, but I went to a game once and they all acted like a$$holes. My husband went out to Pitt for the Steelers vs Eagles reg season game and he said they were acting like idiots in the Steelers house.

I went to the first Eagles/Vikings game this year which was a Monday nighter. Talk about a bad idea, giving some of those guys even more time to drink until the 9pm start. There is a line that separates being a fan and then being a lunatic. Too many Philly fans don’t know where that line is. Being more of a hockey fan than football, I’ve seen the same things at Flyers games. People drove down from Toronto, completely kept to themselves only to be littered with anything in hand. I used to root for the Orange and Black until I saw how sore the fans got when they lost. Too many are over the edge. The sad thing with the article above, the Eagles were winning throughout the game and eventually won and their fans still acted like morons. It’s a shame kids can’t enjoy the fun, it would be too much of a risk.

Go Falcons!!!!!!!!!!!As agressive as both the Eagles and Falcons defenses were in their wins last weekend, this should be a real head-banger....

Sure wish we were playing in the GA dome on the carpet!
