Gracias, I probably shouldn't have ranted so hard but I was frustrated with doing research for so long and not getting anywhere. I think I might have gotten burned yesterday but can't prove it for sure which is annoying.

If the box arrived unopened and with the hologram sticker, try running the code number through habanos.com. If it all corelates, your good, if not, you still may be good.

Post or emial me photos of the cigars in the box, a close-up of the head and foot, the box closed and the bottom of the box.

I will give you an honest OPINION ASAP.

Know your source.....find a vendor you can trust, and stick with them.

Buying Cubans private party (I.e OLH) is risky business. Again, know your source. If you don't, I would ask plenty of questions at the very least before pulling the trigger.

You're almost better off mooching for CCs than buying private party. That way at least you wouldnt be out of pocket any money if you ended up with fakes.

I'd go with the find a good vendor route first though. Mooching will always be there when you need it.

Also, start with minimmum order. Do test runs. Don't place a big order until you are comfortable.

I have been doing a ton of research on cubans and specifically fake bands. It's really depressing how rampant the situation is. There is almost no definitive example of anything anymore. I'm bummed to say the least. Should I spend the extra money and try to find some at an LCDH if I'm ever in the area or have someone pick them up for me? I have even heard that some LCDH's sell fakes, hearsay but my quest for more information has left me with too many questions and certainly unsure if I should buy any cubans.

Rant over.

I have never heard of a Legit LCDH selling fake Cuban Cigars. I think that they would lose their franchise if they were caught do this. I don't think they would risk it. The closest that I've heard is one LCDH (I won’t list specifics) have misrepresented cigars as far as age and/or special releases. But they are still legit Cuban Smokes. Just not exactly what they claim they are.

With my minimal experience with CC's, I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum from being knowledgable about them, but I can still tell when I've smoked an incredible cigar and the PSD4 fit the bill!
