Achilles had a fragile wrapper. Also the unbanded Perdomo Fresh Rolled has a fragile wrapper as well.

Really like the 32's in most all sizes. I smoke the torps while I mow the yard and like the lanceros when I can kick back and really smoke slow and easy.

The best Padillas are the 1932s, easy call. I'm running scared on those, they're a full and the new label/new box version is being touted on c-bid as a medium. I snarfed a box of the old labels which should hold me for a while.

Miamis are almost as good. Dominus, contrary to an opinion above, is a straight medium and is weaker than either the 1932 or the Miami.

Artemis is a great, smooth medium or medium-full (they seem to vary a little or maybe it's just me) with wrappers that don't burn too well. A distinctive taste though. I like 'em.

1968s are a middling medium, ditto the Cazadores.

Achilles are decent cheap cigars to share with people who don't smoke cigars much. I always thought the Obsidians were pretty okay for a $2 stick.

I totally snorked out when CI was running the 9 pack torpedo deal-o-rama of 1932s + Miamis + Dominus. Price runs $3.50-ish. If you can score a box of old 1932s at something around $3.50 to $4.00, that's the winning play.

Here is a good tip: torpedos are excellent, robustos lame when we're talking about Padilla. I don't know why, but there's a huge difference in quality.

Thanks for the heads up Tim. I picked up the 9 pack for 27 or so on free fall and I'm looking forward to trying the 32's! I already know I love the Miamis, but was a little afraid of the dominus description on here "the fullest cigar in the line". I'm a medium-medium/full kinda guy and wasn't looking for a super strong stick, but your description puts my mind at ease a bit. I'll let you know in a couple weeks when I give the 32 and Dominus a test run!

Personally I haven't noticed any difference but I haven't smoked as many torpedos as robustos.

48/68 great (agreeing with above opinions)

Also like La Terrazas, Miamis(old label) - I have some Dominus but just letting those site for a while longer and then I'll pass judgment.

Cazadores is the bottom barrel, but I will sometimes grab a few for hand outs to my novice smoking friends. You know, the ones that smoke 1/4 of the way and then toss the rest?

EDIT: Just bid on some miami mads. I like san andreas wrappers, so going to see how these taste.

Enjoyed thinner RG Miami's in the past. Recent incarnation blows. It's been a very long time since I had a Padilla that made me want another....ever.

Hybrid, Achilles, Dominus, any year-name (68, 48, 32...), new Miami's....all snoozers. Artemis has cashew flavor I thouight was phenomenal - unfortunately, the blend burns consistently worse than any other cigar I've ever had. OR 8/11's were great fresh, but to my dismay they didn't age very well. Last few were very disappointing. Glad they're gone. Padilla seems to always = eventual disappointment. I'm done with them.

Last spring I picked up a box of Miami Oscuro Perfectos - they were fantastic. =d>

Picked up a bunch again this past fall and it seemed like a completely different cigar - really flat and no flavor profile.

Were so bad I contacted customer service to see if somehow the mothership had imposters delivered. 😰
