I use a Cuban Crafter(think I paid 10-15), its an amazing cutter and I feel like these "designer cutters for 50-60 are unreasonably priced. Just curious what every one uses 🇨🇮.

I use a guillotine cutter and a punch cutter. Don't care much for the Colibri (grip) cutters.

I think these designer cutters that cost $10-15.00 are way overpriced. I use a $3 V cut I bought here on cbid.....works great.

a 3.5 or so year old Xikar that probably needs replacing. 🤔 Maybe if I get around to it I'll try returning it as mentioned by some on the forum.

Xikar. Despite the perception they are over priced, they come with a lifetime warranty. Dave, return it for a new one. Xikar does it, no questions asked.

I most often use an inexpensive Xikar, the model with the plastic handles, but I sometimes use a punch and they serve me well.

I will say this however, just like you might have a nicer watch and decent jewelery for when you are out on the town, an expensive cutter and a fancy lighter are just two more accessories for that game, so there is a place for the expensive cutters. I still choose Xikar based on ease of use and very positive experience with the brand although I do have a classy looking Cuban Cutters chrome and gold guillotine and the Paleos have recently piqued my interest. Just like everything else cigar, whisky, or women related, there are many options to satisfy the variety of tastes. Find what you like and enjoy it.

Thanks for the replys 🙂, how do thoes V-cutters work as opposed to a punch? I love punches on larger ring gauge cigars but never tried a v cutter.

Well for my YouTube reviews I prefer to just bite the tip off.

But when I'm feeling classy and not smoking a white owl that has a tip, I use Palio. Second choice Xikar.

V cutters work great so long as you make an x cut. Buy a nice one though, not an el cheapo. You get what you pay for

^caster gave me a xikar for christmas that I use practically every time.

I did use a punch occasionally but one time I went to punch a stick that was probably too dry and the wrapper busted when I pushed. So I've been mad at it.

I'll probably get a V cutter at some point to make an X cut on larger ring gauges, or to help with the moisture buildup on longer gars now that humid summer is coming.

$3 plastic guillotine, $1 punch I resharpened with taper inside, aluminum .45 bullet casings for bigger, pocket knife in a pinch...I ruin fewer cigars with a punch than guillotine!

Xikar here. If sitting next to my palio I seem to always grab the Xikar. Mine is prolly 5 years old or more.

Mostly Xikar Xi8 or Xi2.

Palio for backup. Xi007 punch for backup.

Have used pocket knife, razor blade or

fingernails/teeth in a pinch.
