Sweet cabinet. I still haven't started on my gun cabinet project. Good luck with it.

Nice score. All it needs is the Gimbel touch. Anxious to see that beast with some nice smokes on display! Should be a fun project!!

Is that a humidor originally?
or a cabinet. Will you have to line it with cedar
in addition to sealing it.

It was originally a cabinet, solid hardwood except for the back (thin fiberboard). I plan to replace the original shelves with cedar, line the sides and eventually replace the back entirely with 3/8 cedar.

Gonna be sweet when you complete it.

Got this thing all sealed up tonight. Going to wait on the shelves and replacing the back. Going to bring it upstairs tomorrow and see how well it holds humidity.

Well, when I open up the doors it sounds like a vacuum. I'd say it's sealed up pretty good. Just finished moving my 5 cu/ft cooler into 12.5 cu/ft of cabinet. I do believe my cigars will be happier with the extra breathing room.

Did you replace the backing yet?

Nope, not yet. I did take a closer look at it and found that the back is hardwood too. It will most likely stay this way until I get back from this deployment.

Consider green board with Spanish cedar ply over it

I think green board is good for moisture.

I'm gonna drop about four pounds of bead in it and call it good. There should be enough cedar in it from the boxes.

Very nice find for the money! After you get done with the inside and a little cleaning up the exterior, it will be terrific, very sweet!
