Welcome Carl, I have a xicar Incline that has a fuel window, without it I admit I was always wondering IF my lighter was full. Before this one I'll admit I was never sure that I was getting fuel loaded into the lighter. Now that I can "See" the fuel line....a can lasts a lot longer than it did!

How often do you use it? Just wondering because if most of my lighters were ignited for cigars ten times per day, then I would be refilling them very frequently?

How big is your lighter?

Are you using a lighter with a small reservoir?

Might help to tell us what brand and model...

I use my lighter set at about halfway. If I turn it to full it sounds like a jet engine and goes through fuel in no time. I have to fill mine up about once a week but thats more because the GF likes to use it to light all of her candles. I just bought her her own lighter so I wouldn't have to search for mine anymore.

It is nice having a fuel window so you can see if you are fully refueling the lighter.

I stick to the single flame lighters.

Seems like the ones with 3 or 4 flames eat up a lot of butane.

It will be dead in a few weeks. Bics, wooden matches, or cedar splints.

My xicar chugs fuel and spits out a mutilated flame. It needs returned.

I have 2 that I primarily use, a New Yorker, and a Black Ops. Both are triple flame. Just not sure how both have a window to view fuel remaining. I just didn't know if I was doing something wrong or just overusing it. I will adjust the flame though.

Depending on where you smoke (indoors/outdoors) I would recommend a soft flame versus a torch flame. I have recently switched to a colibri flint lighter (can be found on this site) and to be honest I truly prefer the way it lights my cigars versus the torch. I only have to fill it once a month or so. Just my $.02. Good luck!

I have a triple flame torch with a small fuel reservoir... needs filling every other time I light a cigar... I just keep a small can of butane handy most of the time... single flame torches definitely conserve more butane than do the triple flames... I might consider picking up a single flame, but I would never consider switching to a soft flame... I love the torch and butane cans r pretty cheap here...

ronson jetlite! inexpensive and works well. I'd describe the flame as a soft torch flame. I have a couple triple flame lighters, but find that I tend to fry the head of the cigar with them. Much prefer the single flame, and like the slightly less intense flame on the jetlite.
