Which ones philosophy is more akin to your own?????

Me..................I voted the very first time in 1980 by absentee ballot aboard the USS Mckean DD-784.President Reagan won,I got my wish,I was more than satisfied over his 2 terms and I've never once regretted my decisions.

Those of you that voted Obama.....In all honesty can you say the same???

Yes. Loved Reagan. I really liked daddy Bush too.

Times seemed different then. Both actually worked with the other side while not betraying their principals (although some will say daddy bush did and I suspect that was the beginning of the BS we are in). Now working with the other side IS betraying your principals.

My first vote went for Tricky ****** in '72 but the alternative was McGovern. All my felllow long haired, bearded buddies went the McGovern commie route.

I'm with you, Ron. He wasn't perfect but I never regretted voting for the Gipper. In fact, I was sorry to see him go. Would have voted for him again and again too even though I think he was suffering from the beginnings of alzheimer's.

I voted for Bush senior too but he was a political horse of a more calculated manner. Less principled than Reagan, more of a compromising wheeler dealer. Made a deal with Democrats to raise revenues & then they left him holding the bag at election time. That's what got him in trouble with the voter. I also didn't care for his one world agenda using our money and soldiers but that's another story. Maybe he just wanted to get out of the house more & away from Barbara & son, Alfie E. Newman.

During the Bush II years, the republicans attempted to make the then-current estate tax law with a $3.5 million exemption, adjusted for inflation, permanent rather than expiring 12/31/09. Dems blocked the efforts. In December of 09 during Obama's first year, the Dems proposed and the house passed the exact same proposal and the senate republicans blocked it. Reps spent almost 10 years trying to pass that law, and then when the Dems propose the same thing, the Rep voted no simply because they did not want Obama to get credit for it.
