I need to send a computer this week and have only been mailing packages since I got here. What company should I use? What's the best way? I don't want to pay a ton of money but also am willing to spend more money to keep it in good shape. Do I get insurance? What kind of packaging. I'm very, very nervous to say the least. I never worry to much about a few sticks but it's very important that this arrives in gret condition. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks Alot!!

FedEx. Purchase a laptop box from the FedEx Office store. Get the insurance (just in case, you never know...).

Then ship it through whoever you want. Well packaged, I've shipped laptops through all three shippers without issue.

Fedex is usually the more costly than UPS but people consider them to ship faster and take better care. USPS is good up to a certain weight, then their prices climb quickly, unless you can fit it in a flat rate.

Thank you!! I know you probably can't give me exact but is the insurance over the top expensive?

Usually not- UPS includes $100 insurance for no extra cost, can't remember about Fedex.

If you had the original box, they are good shipping boxes as well, the box that Mo and Juyce mentioned will fit in the long/flat MFR or LFR according to size of screen, I've had great success, you can have tracking and insurance added, and if you set up a click-n-ship account with usps it will be even cheaper, and in some areas it is UPS or Fed ex that is contracted to move the pkgs anyway.
Priority mail will prolly be wherever in 2-3 days, you can track each movement, this is my preferred choice, others have had different success according to their region.

Don't know about FedEx but UPS absolutely will not pay if you have a claim. They just simply don't pay

In the Large flat rate you would even have extra room to put bubble wrap around the box as well if it is the 13"

Lefty is correct, they will always find an excuse, it may take a few months but the usps always pays up

I dont doubt your experiences, but I used to ship all of my packages UPS (through my old company). One was lost and they paid the claim.

YMMV

added and you are welcome. Keep cigars out of this. That was not included in the deal or a secondary incendiary device WILL follow. 🍺

Go to a UPS Store.

Hand them what you want to ship.

They will pack it and ship it.

It may cost more but at that point the packing and shipping is in their hands.

Now hurry up.I'm sure Tuck wants it soon.

Ship overnight guaranteed delivery by ten a.m. It will cost you a fortune but when it doesn't make it you get a total refund.
