So Numi and I were chatting one day, and I mentioned that it would be cool to try out some different chew. There was one I was looking for that I can't find anymore, Apple Jack. He told me he was going to check around to see if he can get it, not even sure if they make it anymore. Well, I don't think they do, but he sent me some other stuff for me to try. 2 pounds of it!! I didn't know they made a pack so large, you can only buy a few ounces here in a pack. Then he sends all kinds of goodies with it too. We are both watching our $$ and laying low in the trades area so this was to be small. Pack of chew for a few smokes.

1 lb Stoker's, Fred's Choice
1 lb Stoker's Black Wild Cherry
1 lb of Coffee
An ear of dried corn ---> Going to try and plant some of the seeds from it next season.
A raw ball of cotton
A tobacco leaf with some more smaller pieces in a bag
Some Chiclets

BAM
La Aurora cameroon
Kinky Friedman
Pedomo Champagne Noir
Black Pearl
AF Between the lines --> Can't wait to try this one out!

Now the bad.. I need a Bus driver, he put my addy as his return addy. Someone please PM me his addy!!! He hit first. [whip]

Yeah he is, good guy. And he wouldn't give me his addy before when we talked because he wanted to hit first. I figured np, I will get his addy off the package when it gets here. NOPE, put my addy as the return too. Bastid!
I will text bomb him till I get it. 😇

I used to chew a little of this growing up in TN. It was everywhere and pretty popular in those parts.

I remember doing intel, and hehe, good you posted on pics and not trade, I never recall a trade, just a mention of my ability to get said items, and your mention of no craziness (to a maniac, hehe)

RAOC, LOL. All this was stuff lying around.

honestly, you owe me a review of the chew, and to be part of the numigrow next year. That corn is gonna be part of an experiment. I want to get as many B/SOTL's to grow that corn next year and post up a pic and how it does in each environment, everyone has room for 5-6 plants in a circle if nothing else. That's enough to pollinate and make an ear.

Thanks! Problem is, it is illegal to sell and ship chew. If I can't find it at the local 7-11 around here, I can't get it.

You are a great BOTL my man! One of these days I best get your addy though, I do have some pride and don't feel right taking without returning. Even if it means I need to wait a while before you get smacked back, I am next to send!

I broke into the bag of Fred's choice yesterday. WOW, that is some good stuff! I shared some with one of my buddies last night as well and he thought the same, really good stuff! It reminded me of the Levi Garrett chew I used to get around here back in the day, but better. I am going to try out that cherry flavored one later today.

Now give me some help with the corn. Should I pluck the kernels off of that ear you sent me and put them away until next spring? Or keep them on the ear and pluck and plant next season? How do they store better? My seeds come in a pack with Burpee on them, I have never tried to harvest seed for the next year. For the exception of Dill weed, I have that stuff growing all over the place.

Well done Numi.....nice hit!! And what an interesting idea having a group of folks all try growing (is that Indian corn?) and see how it develops from one zone to another...very cool idea!!!!

You will, brother, I promise. I'm having a hard time accepting all these gifts as well, I understand.

Tn chew is the BEST! Gonna try and get a lead on that apple they have (Stoker's) or tell my co-op to order you some. They had a moonshine flavored, just figgered it may be a little "hot" and since you mentioned not drinking, I skipped that one, those bags are not pricey, either, the whole bag is cheaper than some LP cigars, LOL.

You could either throw the cob/kernels and all in a bag and toss in the freezer ( this could keep them viable for a few years) It also gets rid of any larvae or risk of meal bugs getting to it.

You could also grind them off, then store in freezer or any dry place out of the heat , just start at one spot with your thumb or hit it against sump'n hard to knock the first few out and then you can just sort of rub the rest off, I have an old hand crank sheller, I use. Some folks like those hung up as fall decorations as well, you will see 2-3 in a bundle at stores. The variety you have is an old ndn variety. It will be white corn when it is "green", then turns a purple/black and white as it dries, drought tolerant fer sure, just curious how hardy it is in other zones.

You need to wait until just after the last frost and plant, as long as the soil temp is 60 or above it will grow. This corn can make it on poor soil , but if given good soil and nitrogen/compost, or manure topping, it will grow 7 to 10' high. yes feet! I've had some that tall!!

Thank you sir, sort of one of the Covenants I have agreed to keep. Never good to break the ones you have with God!

yezzir, NDN corn, Cherokee White Eagle is one of the trade names it goes by, I will put up a thread about this grow I would like to try in a month or so, when things slow down, hopefully.
