It's a blast, I miss "stump shooting" with blunts.

I have a lightweight bow, that I need to start trying to build back up with after they do another surgery and fix my other cervical disc.

I wouldn't even attempt to string the bow he sent me, tempting to get the son to , though, this is opening weekend here, and I could take a turkey instead of a deer as long as I use a bow.

Our fall turkey season, either sex, has been reinstated this year, I can take 1 in either county where I have property, with a bow or shotgun!

That makes sense, they need more cover, too many big fields that are cropped, not enough cover, as the populations increase, they will loosen up the hunting more.

That is how it's been here, but we have been real active in trying to give 'em good habitat. I've tended various places from 75, 125, 10, and 6 acre plots, mainly for Turkey. I only bushhog alternate strips every other year, and after Mid-July so all poults will be out of the nest and running.

We never bushog until Sept.

We have about 25 acres out of the 340 that are fields....gives them a chance to nest and get the polts big enough to suvive....

We've seen some good young gobblers the last 2 years...things are lookin up!

try the alternating strips, keeps teh trees/saplings down, and the rabbits, quail, and turkey really love it, gives 'em a sense of cover, but still lets you have shooting lanes, etc. A great set-up.

I usually just skip maybe 15 to 30 ft according to how the field is set-up

Should of sent you some bird arrows for quail, full height fletching arrows don't go very far, hell I can,t hit a pheasant with a shotgun let alone with a bow. But I have seen pictures of guys that have! Think one guy got a dove one year on the fly! Not going to feed the family but it sure is fun!

well said, and from someone who received and also understands what it takes, only made stick bows..........

Pictures cannot do them justice. And I can tell will shoot very sweet and hard with no hand shock!

Match some arrows to that sucker and you can get very good with a little practice..........
