retrohale? Always and often. In fact, I typically retrohale a little almost every draw, unless it's REALLY strong, and even then I do it somewhat. I love it when it's so peppery/spicy that it sends me into a sneezing fit, lol, is that weird?

But also be for warned for those that have never done it, some smokes will burn the hell out of your nose!

Didn't watch the vid since, like someone else said, as a former cigarette smoker it just came naturally. May be repeating something the video hit on but if not this will be useful to some who get the nasal burn and useful to everyone who retrohales in opening up more nuances in heavier smokes. Don't retrohale "full strength" smoke. Just let 1/2 to 2/3's of the smoke out of your mouth and pull in a little fresh air to mix with the smoke before you retrohale. Makes the smoke milder and opens up a lot of angles and flavors as well. Again if the video hit on that sorry for the repetition.

I agree riverdog, that really is the smoothest way to do it and my preferred way as well. Having said that, some brothers just like the burn...

yea, I blow some out my mouth, then bring some new air in through my nose. Then I slowly retrohale the rest (usually opening my mouth towards the end.

Also, I "chew" the smoke when it's in my mouth. I find that the chewing motion lets me get more flavor and nuance for whatever reason. then I sort of chew on the way out (flap my tongue sort of).

If it's a cigar with a thick wrapper (like a CBL or other stalk-cut wrapper), then I take a 2nd puff right away. I find that you get more wrapper flavor that way on the 2nd puff (and it's often spicier).

Yup, yup and yup. Love that 1st pull after a touch up on a crooked burn..... mmmmm. And varying the position of your tongue on the fresh air draw give me a change or at least different intensity of flavors. Heheheheh, I've had close friends at the late in the evening point where several beverages are behind you and things are slowing down, "Dude are you asleep with that cigar?" Eyes closed, head back, "chewing" the smoke...... Yeah, I can see how you might think I was asleep.{:-)
