I'm sorry... I thought this was a cigar forum. And I don't see any cigars for trade.

You allow one business to conduct a sale thread, next thing you know the boards will be loaded with Sales for every type of widget.

It's common etiquette on most of the cigar forums I visit that you do not solicit or advertise commercial business or sales. Just like it is the rules here. The forums that do allow soliciting have separate topics for such activity.

I don't golf so I don't give a sh|t. Nor do I try to conduct business out of someone else's house. You want golf items go visit a golf forum.

I hope this thread doesn't blow up with negativity.

I definitely see both sides. But, I'm going to lean Pro's way if in fact he isn't making a penny on this deal (which I believe him). If he was selling his products on the forum for a profit, I would definitely frown on it, but since it is at his cost, it really does give people a chance to get some quality products at below retail pricing. Seems like a win/win.

On the other hand, I'd hate to see this forum turn into selling free-for-all.

Working with manufacturers in the past, I know that will accept product back (assuming agreements were made in advance) so this seems like an up an up deal.

Edit: In the future, you might want to get a moderators blessing beforehand so there will be no confusion as to which rules apply to whom. I know that they have granted people permission to do things in the past and I think they would probably be OK with this as well. AGAIN, just my .02.

Thanks for thinking of us and giving us this great opportunity for great gear at a great price! I can't use it anymore, but it's greatly appreciated. My set (Taylor Made driver, Ping 3 wood, ping zing irons, etc.) is collecting dust.

This offer brought back some very good memories..thanks for that as well.

There's no injustice done here. The numerous sales/splits that go on behind the scenes are a bigger issue to the "moderators" than this thread should be.

Moderators is in quotes cause thats a term that should be used loosely here. This place is the proverbial Lord of the Flies of the cigar forums I've been around..

Bart had some product to move, albeit not cigar related, at a great price. It is and was appreciated.

No... It doesn't. At least not for everyone.
And I laugh every time someone tells me they are selling something for cost or no profit. Obviously there is a real advantage to having the cash and moving the merchandise. In some cases returning the merchandise could effect future merchandise received if it's received on spec. The fact is this a sale run from a commercial pro shop. This is not just an individual trying to sell a few personal items.

As I said the first time I posted, this should have been handled privately without posting a full list of items. Just like some of the cigar sales folks have run. PM the individual for the List. But now the list has been edited somewhat, removed and the 2nd continued list post removed.

I've said my piece. Enough people are OK with someone soliciting, advertising/selling non-cigar related material because it was offered at a great price, or because the OP "says" he isn't profiting, or because cigars go with golf.

So let the Sales threads begin.
