I think I see the secessionist's game plan. By formally leaving the United States, not only will they be free from their present obligation to help support the federal government's profligate spending by sending their citizen's wealth off to Washington, after they leave the Union they can turn around and sign up for billions of dollars of foreign aid...all paid for by the wealthy, enlightened and progressive blue States who faithfully stayed behind.
