I just fired up my first DPG Blue. A toro if I'm correct. Gifted to me by Harleyd31. It's been sitting for at least 9 months. So far so good.

Can't go wrong with that one IMO...new or old blend both good....just a lildifferent from one another

You're right about that. Kinda wish I'd smoked it sooner. I really hate trying new sticks, though. It seems when I do my spending goes up a bit every time I do.

Are they identifiable by looking at the label?

The one I have has three bands. The label, a band under that says original and a blue foot band.

Paul,

I don't think the blend has changed. I think it's the just the bands and packaging that he revamped.

Yeah, I dunno either.

Just a thought, have you compared aged old ones with the new ones? This cigar mellows out a lot with age. I actually never liked it fresh or even close to fresh, thought it was too rough and unbalanced, then someone passed around a 6-7 year old one at a herf. Night and day difference, it had become a very subtle and smooth cigar. Besides the obvious changes that occur in crops from year to year due to weather patterns, I wonder if these might be older tobacco.

Again, just a thought. Next time I run into Frank (one of the reps out here), I'll ask him.

Reps are more hit n miss then cigars!!!

You must have real ones down there. Only good one we have is Ed Ryan our region CRA rep also reps La Palina and Bulldog (or something like that, crappy sticks).
