Slight threadjack... This is one of the reasons I have never bought a CC, I just don't know much about them. Are counterfeit CC's that common? And if so, how well do they compare to the original? I can't imagine they smoke the same, but what about looks, the bands etc..

I'm sure sled can defend himself about the possible counterfeit he sent you. Did he disappear from the boards never to return and choose you as his proxy to speak for him ? J/W

Nope.. This is just another thread about a satisfactory transaction.. Aside from a couple duds, everything else seemed to check out.. It happens.. No sweat off my sack.

Counterfeits can be quite common, a trusted reliable source is one of the keys to avoiding them, but sometimes things happen. I know of one incident where an LCdH had their franchise pulled a few years ago for selling counterfeits.

Compare? They are all over the place really. Rarely, if ever, are the profiles even close when it comes to smoking, although sometimes they aren't bad cigars even with their mystery blend and profile, sometimes they're even made with Cuban tobacco (although probably grown in someone's back yard or something) other times, well, we've cut a few open and found things that probably aren't even tobacco in there, like random leaves, pieces of plastic, etc. Construction quality can be anything from horrible to excellent. Bands can run the span from close to looking like they were drawn by a 7 year old.

We all know that 98.2% of all Cuban cigars are fakes so if you get 0.22 of a cigar that is legit, you are right on target.

In all seriousness, from what I hear on the interwebs, if you have a reliable source your likelihood of getting a fake is rare. Could it happen? Sure.

Keep in mind... I have never purchased, possessed, consumed, or know where to procure any form of contraband, nor do I know of anybody that have possessed, purchased, or consumed the same.

Have I received a fake in trades or bombs? I don't know. I don't scrutinize each and every smoke I get nor do I think that 98.2% of the folks here intentionally try to pull a fast one. I don't think I've ever done a transaction in which I felt screwed. Anything I get is considered a gift and no matter what it is, a Thank You is in order be it publicly or via PM just like any gift.

I don't know Sled from Adam (the biblical guy not TG) but I don't get the feeling that he tried to pull a fast one.
