I've been reading a lot of good things about these cigars, but I'm a little daunted by how many different lines and special releases they have. I generally like medium/full torpedoes and would be willing to spend about $8-10 on one. What would any of you recommend I try first?

Try Tat 7th Reserva. Very good. The tat nobles At 3 to 4 bucks always have a spot in my rotation. Never a bad one.

Black PL or J21 or Nobles or 7th reserva or petite cazador or.... there are just too many good ones to pick from.

Full bodied figurado = Avion. Should be able to get one for 8-10 bucks with no problem..

For that price range I'd day the Tat PCR, Verocu #5, 7th Rerseva, La Duena (although not officially Tat! you can taste Tatuaje in that blend :)), the Skull breaker, Bone crusher, (although Collabs not all pete these are good for new smokers IMO) and my favorite The Noellas...

But your first one should probably be a Barclay Rex or frank. Something easy to find.

Best Surrogate for a new smoker has GOT to be the Crystal Baller! Really mellow flavor profile..low in vitamin N. Solid smoke...All of the Surrogates rock, though..
