^^ I got a bag of that, or very similar, about a year ago --- super cheap at Walmart. Their advertised prices now are higher but it did/does do a very nice job.

Why use beads, scented kitty litter works great

Seriously the crystal KL works great. It comes unscented and works just as well as the beads.

Want some? PM me.

Used in museum display cases. There is also more information than you would ever want to know about silica gel/beads. Kitty litter will work but has a much lower buffering capacity.

Good info there, I bought a 50# bag of unconditioned beads for about 60 bucks and slowly used the same process they use to condition them at 65% RH.

Place the beads in an airtight enclosure with a container of H2O. The beads will slowly try to equalize with the increased humitiy. Take out the water container when the desired humidity is reached. I did these steps in my wineador and watched the digital hygrometer I had installed. Watched for an additional day after removing the water container to ensue the humitiy was where I desired it (65% for me)
