do cigar shops have people answer the phone that know nothing about cigars. Its amazing how many shops I call looking for a certain cigar and the person on the phone is clueless, or they don't speak english. Very frustrating grrrrrrrrr.[ram27bat]

Got to be someone related to the person who owns the store.

In that case ... take a message, and we'll get back to you should be the answer.

Hasn't happened to me around here.

Cigar store clerks don't get paid enough to smoke good cigars.

we have one yuppy shop up in fresno... no matter who answers the phone or what question I ask, the first 5 seconds of every response is, "uhhhhhhmmmmm"... followed by a generally long pause during which I can here the person loosely cover the mouth piece of the phone and re-ask the question to someone sitting in the lounge... 75% of the time the rest of the answer is, "ya know I'm not quite sure on that one"... it's pretty sweet...

Hey brother, I was tryin to find another box of Goldie, called lots of places, even called your shop, very nice gal, knew her stuff, kinda chuckled when I asked for the Goldie, She did say they were going to get 30 or 40 boxes of the #5 when they get released. No luck so far, but not giving up just yet, still have a couple left. They are hands down one of the best cigars I have ever smoked.

by the way Travis, my hound just let me know the UPS guy was here, been waitin on him for some of your stuff. Your noob package will fly today.🇨🇮

that same bullshat just happened to me the other day. I never call cigar shops. But my local said last month they would be getin' the new Brick House Mighty Maduro in very soon. I called yesterday and asked, was put on hold, and the air head wench came back on and said, "yes we have it.". So i take a 11 mile drive only to get their and see NOTHING on the shelf. Either she did not look, or just wanted to get me their to buy something, or can't tell a maduro from a connecticut. First time I ever left without buying anything.

ps,

the new Montecristo epic toro is great.

the new te-amo revolution toro is good.

CAO Criollo Robusto is good.

the new Vega Fina Fontaleza2 toro is so-so.

Both shops that I patronize are awesome. No complaints. I called to grab the Mule Kicks from a different shop..you know where..the guy was ridiculously nice.. I mean--I asked him for just about everything and he was walking back and forth without pause...the only thing I noticed was that he couldn't pronounce half of the smokes he was reading off to me. Seemed to know quite a bit but the pronunciation was waaay off. Don't know why I always pay attention to that stuff..

I always try to subtly correct people by using the same word in a fresh sentence..sometimes they don't pick up on it though..

The first time I ever said Casa Magna I pronounced it "casa mon-ya".. Luckily for me, the guy corrected the error so I didn't look like a fool going forward..If you run a B&M you really gotta know your stuff!

Not all shops are like that, but when you find one, Its glaring. I think the owners sit in the lounge and smoke and don't want to be bothered. I called another guy about some Sublimes and he was apeach of a guy. Had ran out but were on order, called me when they came in. I think its a sideline business for some. Wish I had a nice one near me.
